Hi! My name is Akshay, and I’m a software engineer and game developer based in USA.

I wrote my first game in high school, which was a text based treasure-hunting game in C++. During my time as an undergraduate CS Engineering student, I began developing mobile apps and games, publishing them to the App Store and the Google Play store.

I later joined the Entertainment Technology Center at Carnegie Mellon University as a Graduate student, completing my Masters degree in 2016. There I worked on several projects in various team sizes ranging from game jams to semester-long client projects. Beyond mobile and PC games, I enjoyed developing on then-new platforms, such as the Oculus Rift, Xbox Kinect, Leap Motion, and Makey-makey.

From 2016 up till Summer 2020 I worked as a Gameplay Programmer on the MMORPG Crowfall. Working on a complex architecture and being mentored by senior engineers was a hugely rewarding experience. I enjoyed working with game designers to implement mechanics, write tools, and work with sound designers and artists to make the game come alive in the engine.

From 2020 to 2023 I worked as a Senior Software Engineer at WaveXR, a Los Angeles based startup where we created interactive virtual concerts. Our shows were performed live by artists, influenced by fans through interactions, and experienced together in real time through a fully networked architecture. I was fortunate to work with talented performers like Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, John Legend, Alison Wonderland and Calvin Harris.

In 2024 I joined a tech startup called StageGlass, a company developing an application to enable interior designers to quickly generate 3D walkthroughs of floorplans using Unreal Engine. I am grateful to work with such a talented group of engineers and artists, building a product that is so easy to use and generates amazing results quickly.

Outside of game development, I’m passionate about producing and DJing music. If you’re interested in hearing more about my work, or want to discus projects, feel free to contact me using the buttons below!

Thank you for stopping by, and I wish you a great day. 🙂
